Effective Date: July 18, 2014
The “I Can Have Conversations With You!” iPad app (the “App”) is offered by Autism Breakthrough Solutions, LLC (“we”, “us” or the “Company”) through the App Store. We also maintain the “I Can Have Conversations With You” website and blog found at iCanForAutism.com (together, the “Website”).
Please note that your use of the App and Website are also governed by the following terms and conditions:
The App is intended for use by parents and guardians working with their child with autism to improve the child’s ability to engage in social conversations. We have designed the App to be used on an iPad by one child (whom we will refer to as a “learner”). The App teaches through conversation modules.
Information Collected When the App is Purchased
We offer the App for purchase in the App Store only by adults (at least 18 years old) who have a App Store account and an iPad. Additional conversation modules for the App are available for in-App purchase (“In-App Purchase”) only by adults. No-one younger than 18 years old is eligible to purchase the App or a conversation module.
We have an arrangement with the App Store to manage App purchases and In-App Purchases. At the time that an App is purchased, we do not receive or collect any personally-identifiable information about the purchaser. For a definition of “personally-identifiable information”, click here.
When a user subsequently makes an In-App Purchase, the App Store handles that transaction. We do not receive or collect personally-identifiable information about a purchaser’s In-App Purchases.
Information Collected When the App is Used
Our Company does not collect or receive information about the learner’s name or usage of the App. In the App, an adult is asked to assess the learner’s communication skills. Within a conversation module in the App, the learner is presented with a set of audio and visual materials (videos, photos, audio clips and written dialog) that depict conversations in specific social situations. The App allows the learner’s response to be recorded, and tallies the learner’s progress through the conversation module.
The App stores the adult’s assessments, the learner’s name, and the results of the learner’s use and progress on the iPad on which the App is installed. The adult’s assessments, the learner’s name, his or her results, and the other information generated by users of the App are not collected or received by our Company. The Company also does not collect, receive or store information about where or when the App is used, or how long each session lasts.
When the learner completes a conversation module, the App allows the user to prepare a certificate of achievement for the learner. That certificate is also stored within the app on the user’s iPad, and that information is not collected, received or stored by the Company.
It is your responsibility to back up the App, and the assessments, results and other information generated by your and your learner’s use of the App. Because the Company does not receive or collect information about the learner’s name or usage of the App, please be aware that the Company will not be able to help you to restore your usage history if your iPad is lost or stolen, or the App’s data is erased, or the App is damaged or inaccessible for any reason.
Our Company maintains a website at that provides information about our products, and features the blog of our founder Karen Kabaki-Sisto.
